Synopsis

A letter on Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works (PWA) letterhead from Washington, D.C., signed by W. H. Maroney, Senior Examiner in the Finance Division, to Wedowee City Clerk J. E. Perry, regarding Finance Docket No. 4825. Maroney reports that subscription agreements showing about 108 potential connections to the proposed Wedowee water system had been sent to the Administration by Congressman Joe Starnes, together with a certification from the Mayor. The PWA copied the data and returned the originals for the town's files, and says the application is receiving further study in light of the new information. The letter shows the town gathering pledges from prospective customers to prove the system could pay for itself, and the involvement of its congressman in pressing the application.
