Synopsis

A signed letter on letterhead of the Public Works Board of Alabama, State Capitol, Montgomery, from Robert Harris, Secretary, to J. E. Perry, Clerk of Wedowee. Harris acknowledges Perry's letter of the 29th, agrees with him, and believes the Board can help Wedowee get its loan, adding that he knows of no better security than the town could give. He reports that the State Engineer has received a wire from Washington saying applications may now be received, and that an engineer and a lawyer will apparently need to prepare the application. Since Wedowee had applied to the PWA earlier, Harris suggests it may already have an engineer's report and asks Perry to send it so he can help push the application through. The letterhead lists the board's officers and members. The letter marks the renewed 1935 phase of Wedowee's water works effort.

May 1, 1935.

Mr. J. E. Perry, Clerk,
Wedowee, Alabama.
Dear Sir:
I carefully noted your letter of the 29th inst., and agree with you in what you state and believe that we can be of assistance to you in getting the loan. I certainly do not know of any better security than that you could give for your town.
The State Engineer has received a wire from Washington stating that applications may now be received. According to the information we have at this time, it seems it will be necessary for you to have an engineer and a lawyer prepare your application. However, it may be possible that since you made an application to the PWA some time ago that you already have this engineer's report. If you will kindly send same to me, I will take pleasure in doing what I can to get your application through at an early date.
Yours very truly,
[signed] Robert Harris
Robert Harris,
Secretary.
