Synopsis

A signed letter on J. B. McCrary Company, Inc., Municipal Improvements, Atlanta letterhead from Donald Mills to J. E. Perry, Clerk of Wedowee. Following a conversation the previous Saturday, Mills encloses a copy of the town's amended application for the water works project and asks Perry to mark on the map the final location of the tank lot and any minor changes desired. He notes the amended application provided only $150.00 for the price of the lot, and warns that only the smallest additions are possible because the project as planned runs close to the federal allotment; any changes should shift pipe from one place to another so that total lengths stay about the same. Once returned, the company would proceed with the work. The letter shows the final planning of Wedowee's water system under a fixed allotment, apparently answered by Perry's letter in folder 19.

J. B. McCRARY COMPANY, INC.
MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENTS
ATLANTA
August 26, 1936.

Mr. J. E. Perry, Clerk,
Wedowee, Alabama.
Dear Mr. Perry:
In accordance with our conversation of Saturday last, I enclose herewith a copy of your amended application.
Please indicate on the map the final location of the tank lot, and also any minor changes you would like to have made.
Please note that the amended application provided only $150.00 for the price of the lot.
It will not be possible to make but the smallest additions, since the project as planned runs fairly close to the allotment. Try to switch from one place to the other so that the lengths will not be changed very much.
As soon as you have done this, return the enclosed copy to us and we will proceed with the work.
Yours very truly,
J. B. McCRARY COMPANY, INC.,
By [signed] Donald Mills

Reading notes

Date clearly typed 1936, but Perry's apparent reply (folder 19) is typed August 28, 1935 and cites a letter of August 26, 1935; one of the two years is likely a typing error. Enclosed application and map are not present.
